Today’s post is going to be about the NYX Liquid Suede Liquid Lipstick in shade “Soft Spoken”. Nyx has recently launched in India “exclusively” at with quite a good variety (apart from Sephora). I have tried it’s couple of products before like Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams n Blush- Bronzer and so I was dying to try their much raved Suede Liquid Lipstick as well . It’s been few days that I have been using this product and now here I am with my opinion on this product. Let see..

My Take on NYX Liquid Suede -“Soft Spoken”

Packaging: This comes in a plastic thick tube with a long straight stiff applicator. My personal preference is the regular doe foot applicator as they are more easy on the application side, but this applicator is also not difficult to work with as well. It’s priced at Rs. 850 for 4 ml of product. The outer cover of the tube corresponds to the actual shade so you can easily identify the color. Overall the packaging is good & sturdy.

Formula & Pigmentation: The formula is of a thick cream form which applies smoothly on the lips. It’s texture does not dry down to complete matte finish like a traditional matte lipstick but is relatively a comfortable creamy matte. It also takes quite a bit of time to completely dry down, which is kinda good thing as you can play with it to apply it perfectly. Because of it’s creamy formula, it does mildly transfers but not much and hardly affects the color. Pigmentation wise is not very very opaque but still it gives a decent coverage in a single swipe. For a high opaque color, it need two applications atleast.

Longevity: It has a fair good staying power. It stays for 5-6 hours without fading. The first fade that I’ve noticed is from the inner rim of the lips(which is kinda obvious in most of the liquid lip product). If faded, retouching does not creates any streakyness or patchiness on the lips. So a second application is good to go!

Color/Shade: It’s a beautiful nudy brownish pinky shade (that’s the best I can explain it ; smile). Would look pretty on fair to medium skin tones but may not suite dark complexions. This shade is extremely popular everywhere and is always out of stock. Here are some swatches;

What I liked:

  • Good wear time
  • Does not dry out lips
  • Sturdy packaging; travel friendly
  • Lots of product
  • Does not stain lips
  • Soft and Creamy Texture

What I did not liked:

  • Long stiff applicator
  • Settles into fine line or cracks after some time
  • Transfers and smudge a bit

Overall, I liked this Cream Lipstick. It comes in a bunch of color range from light to dark. I would recommend to give it a try.
